Picture hats or Big Flamboyant hats category is the home of some of my more extravagant designs; the ones worn by motion picture starlets and Edwardian postcard models. It was believed that bigger was better!

Lavish styles worn by actresses, such as Lillie (Lily) Langtry (1853-1929) and Lillian Russell (1861-1922). These more elaborate styles worn by the actresses of the nineteenth century were brought to life by actress Mae West (1893-1980) in her movies...such as Belle of the Nineties, Klondike Annie and Every Day’s a Holiday.  Let us not forget Audrey Hepburn in My Fair lady.

Total Brim ranging in size from approximately 24 to 28 inch in diameter.  Each individually handcrafted.  Adornments may include, silk, feather, or satin floral, such as silk or feather roses or hibiscus all hand created.  Feather accents are unique and several hand sculptured to add just the right finishing touch. Accent with lavish & unique feathers. Many featuring 30 inch prime ostrich plumes, sculptured and draping oh so gently over the brims, to create the exact elegant tough to complete this fine millinery creation.  Note ALL my Picture Hat designers are created over hand constructed buckram and wire bases, which I create.  So if you do not see the exact framed hat you are looking for-I will create that very special hat that will simply stop the race!  Just as Elisa did at the Ascot in My Fair Lady!!!
